The District Nurse Teams
A District Nurse is a specialist Practitioner.
A Community Nurse is qualified nurse who works with the District Nurse.
The District Nurse Team delivers high quality person-centred nursing care to people in their own homes. The nurses work in partnership with the Doctors and other health professionals, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, Macmillan Cancer Care and other Specialist Nurses.
The District Nurses, who are based at Sleaford, and may be contacted on
01529 220445 - Messages left on the answerphone are collected several times daily.
The Health Visiting Team
Health Visitors are qualified nurses with specialist training and experience in Family and Child Health. The service is supplied by both Home Visits and a Clinic held weekly at the Billingborough surgery.
The Health Visiting Team works closely with the surgeries' Doctors, Nurses and Midwives, with Social Services and in Local Community Groups. It includes all aspects and topics of health including child growth and development, health care and health issues. Every family, with a child under five years old has a named Health Visitor.
The Team is based at The Riversdale Clinic, Westgate, Sleaford and can be contacted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays on : 01529 304310
Billingborough Open Access Baby Clinic is held at the Surgery every 2nd & 4th Tuesday, between 12.30pm and 2.00pm.
The Midwifery Team
A Midwife is a specialist Practitioner who is trained to care for the mother and her baby during pregnancy, birth and after the baby is born. The Midwife aims to offer patients a safe, pleasurable and fulfilling experience of childbirth.
