Statement of Purpose

Very important Notice



The easiest and fastest way to get any kind of help is with askmyGP.  It saves us time too, so please help us to help you.

  • Available 24/7 - we respond in working hours, 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday

  • We can usually get back to you within the hour, and will see you same day if needed.

  • All our registered patients are welcome, parents and carers on behalf of patients too.

  • You can name a GP if you wish (so long as they are working today)

  • You may prefer a message, telephone, video or face to face response

  • You can sign up now, with no paperwork

SMS texting is also available for appointment reminders to your mobile phone. Please ask at reception for details and a "password" to enable you to use these services.

Emergency Appointments

Genuine, acute medical emergencies will be seen by a clinician on the same day. The receptionists have been requested by the GPs to ask patients for information relating to the presenting symptoms, the duration and type of symptoms to prioritise the medical emergency.

Patients should NOT abuse this service.

Our Nurse Practitioners are available during the day to assess, diagnose and treat acute illness. Please contact reception for further details.

Extended Hours

To assist workers, or those in full-time education who have difficulty attending at regular surgery times, pre-booked appointments are available with a doctor and/or nurse at Billingborough Surgery on Tuesday evening (6.30 – 7.40pm).

Please note: During these times, emergency health care is provided by the Out-of-Hours team on 111.

Billingborough Surgery is CLOSED on Thursday (only) between 1.30 - 2.30pm for staff training, practice meetings and doctors’ administration. If in the event of a serious medical emergency and you need access to the surgery, please use the buzzer at the front of the building near the opening times sign.

  1. Antibiotics are NOT prescribed by phone.
  2. Do NOT use this facility to request a repeat prescription.


When visiting the surgery for a medical examination you may be asked if you would prefer a chaperone to be present. Similarly if you would like a chaperone present please feel at ease to mention this.


If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
